About Gerald Pottern
Gerald studied NC stream fish communities in graduate school in the 1980's and native fish quickly invaded his tropical tanks. He now keeps a mix of freshwater and brackish tropicals and natives including dwarf cichlids, anabantoids, characins, pygmy sunfish, shiners, dace, darters, killifish, gobies, and others. He is the North Carolina representative for the North American Native Fishes Association (NANFA). He has been a Raleigh Aquarium Society member since 1982.
